FIT 4 Series

Fit 4 Series

The PLS Fit 4 programs are eight to twelve weeks of training, consisting of intense boot camp style classes that meet four times each week. The classes are different each day but always include strenuous and grueling workouts. Activities include speed, power, reaction, agility, and quickness drills, along with cardiovascular and strength training. These activities comprise the PLS signature ultimate full-body workout. The twelve week program concludes with a 5k run.

Plus I feel so much better physically and about myself. Paul’s motivation techniques and variety of exercises keep me from becoming bored. The trainers are great. You open the doors and I’ll be there. Many Thanks

Project Description

FIT 4 Series

The mission of the Fit 4 Series is to improve the overall health of the state. It is a fact that Mississippi leads the nation in obesity and poor health factors; this is unacceptable! With the success of programs like Fit 4 Change and Fit 4 Teaching, we have seen the Mississippi legislators and teachers lead the way by losing over 22,000 pounds. This is what is helping pull Mississippi out of the number one spot in the nation for obesity. We want the participants to lead by example through their commitment to a healthier Mississippi. Through the leadership of legislators, teachers, students, and parents MS will be inspired throughout the state to also live healthier lives.

Coupled with poor health statistics, Mississippi also has one of the lowest per capita household incomes in the United States. Unfortunately, the cost of health and fitness programs can be out of reach for many residents. Therefore, another goal of Fit 4 is to reach residents that would otherwise not be able to afford and experience the benefits of the PLS fitness programs.

The PLS Fit 4 programs are twelve weeks of training, consisting of intense boot camp style classes that meet four times each week. The classes are different each day but always include strenuous and grueling workouts. Activities include speed, power, reaction, agility, and quickness drills, along with cardiovascular and strength training. These activities comprise the PLS signature ultimate full-body workout. The twelve week program concludes with a 5k run.

With any health program, there is always the resistance among some participants as they begin to incorporate a healthier lifestyle. Moreover, some individuals may hesitate to make such a commitment because of other obligations. However, once the initial hurdle is conquered, all participants will feel the excitement and pride that accompanies each day of living a new, healthy lifestyle.  For twelve weeks each year, Mississippi lawmakers challenge each other and the state to fight obesity. They lost 1,401 pounds in the first year, 3,043 pounds the second year and in years 2012 and 2013 lost a record breaking 3504 lbs and 3315 lbs! Fortunately, each year participants are on course to break all weight loss percentage records. Fit 4 Teaching has had over 250 local teachers lose over 3100 lbs and the participants with Fit 4 the Coast broke all records by any Fit 4 series to date.

Victory Sports Foundation and PLS have taken a great, first step toward conquering obesity.  With the requested partnership, we will be getting a step closer to conquering obesity in Mississippi and improving the overall health of residents.

Individuals who experience PLS Fit 4 programs are exposed to a healthier lifestyle change and a positive impact that goes beyond the twelve weeks of training. Most participants continue to focus on a healthy, active lifestyle. Multiple participants continue to train with PLS throughout the year and encourage others to join as well. Participants build a close relationship with other team members and continue to support each other. The PLS family receives daily emails, phone calls, text messages, social media posts, etc. from participants thanking everyone for positively impacting and changing lives of residents one day at a time. The following are a few quotes from the many testimonials we receive from each program “I will be the next 100 lb club member” Beth W, 136 lbs lost, “There is no doubt this program and the relationships I have gained while training have not only added years to my life, but have added to the quality of those years” Michael G, 112 lbs lost, “The good Lord has put you here to coach, to train, and to inspire others. This is your ministry, and no one does it better!”, Bucky S, 123 lbs lost.
